Coronavirus (Covid-19)

As a tennis club we have a duty of care in cases where there is a health risk to our members, their guests and to visitors.  As such we are taking and some immediate actions in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

In line with LTA guidance the clubhouse is now closed. This includes access to bathroom and kitchen facilities on site.

Tennis Activities

All club social sessions (including Tuesday and Saturday sessions), organised tennis activity and group coaching is now suspended. Government and LTA guidance permits the courts to remain open for use for non-organised activities, including activities arranged between members, to help ensure people remain active.

Please do not come to the club if you are displaying symptoms of Coronavirus, or should be self-isolating in line with the latest government guidance.

We ask all members to employ strict social distancing and hygiene practices:

  • Members should not travel to the club together unless they are part of a group residing together.

  • If courts are in use members should not wait at the club for a court to become available but should leave the premises and return later.

  • Activity should be in line with the Government’s advised social distancing measures at all times (defined by Public Health England as spending no more than 15 minutes within a 2-metre distance of someone), including when entering and leaving the court.

  • In line with this guidance our recommendation is that members play singles rather than doubles.

  • Members should wash hands thoroughly before and after a tennis session without exception (or use an alcohol gel if washing hands is not possible).

  • Avoid touching your face whilst playing.

  • Members are advised not to change ends during play.

  • The time-honoured tradition of shaking hands after you have finished playing is temporarily suspended.

Please note that as the clubhouse is closed members will need to supply their own balls and will not be able to use floodlights.

All group coaching sessions are now suspended. This includes all junior and adult sessions and Easter holiday courses.

Individual (1:1) and small group coaching will continue, provided they can be carried out in line with the Government's advised social distancing measures (although this position will be monitored). Before arriving at the club for your session please confirm with Chris or Alexia.

Social Activities

As set out above, the clubhouse is now closed, which means that all social activities will be cancelled until further notice.
